About

HI THERE!

I’m Olivia. Welcome to Liv’s Little Muffins!

I decided to start this blog so I could share my recipes that you don’t feel guilty eating for breakfast or a snack! As I started developing more and more recipes, I realized how much I was enjoying creating all kinds of recipes, including more indulgent desserts and treats.

I’ve been baking since I was young and I still remember the first cake I ever made by myself when I was about 10 years old. It was raspberry chocolate cake and it actually turned out really good. I was always the designated baker in my house after that, especially if we were having company.

My bake of choice when I was younger was cheesecake. I absolutely loved eating and making cheesecakes and tried different kinds all the time. From there, my love of baking grew right up to when I had kids a couple years ago.

I’m now a mom of two and my son is incredibly picky, which is what led me to start creating recipes in the first place. He likes baked goods generally but I didn’t want him eating all that white flour and sugar everyday. So I started making my own recipes using whole wheat flour while also reducing the amount of sugar and saturated fats. My goal was to also sneak in vegetables wherever I could, especially in snack type foods, like a muffin. Through attempting to develop these recipes and loving the creation aspect, Liv’s Little Muffins was born!

My Background

I grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland and am currently living in Alberta. For school, I move to the United States where I attended the University of North Dakota. I got my Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training there as well as a minor in psychology. I had actually planned to get my minor in nutrition but unfortunately, due to all my classes and team commitments in Athletic Training, I was unable to fit the last couple of nutrition classes I needed into my schedule. I still plan to pursue higher education in nutrition and was actually accepted into a Master’s of Sports Nutrition program but life and kids got in the way. Hopefully, this is something I’ll be able to complete in the near future.

I hope you enjoy my recipes and can convince any picky eaters to give them a try! Happy baking!
